Ngerengere River Eco Camp

Non-governmental organization

Beekeeping is a great strategy to create alternative means of income, while respecting

and working with nature.

We established 40 beehives at the Eco Camp, and started to assess its progress so it can be

improved. We face following challenges:

  • Irregular bee population; occasionally bees abandon the hives
  • Season of harvesting is not clear
  • Honey production falls under what was expected from mature colon. We harvest 5 liters of honey from one beehive but it is expected to produce 10 to 20 liters of honey.

We are looking for volunteers with expertise in

beekeeping to make this project efficient. We need

more information on how to attract bees, improve

beehives, moving bees from one beehive to another and introduction of bee friendly
